Stephen Curry Just had the Greatest Shooting Week in NBA History

Let's just put it this way. Curry's "off night" of the week was his 33 point performance in an 18-point win against Cleveland. 12-25 FG, 5-5 FT, 4-13 3-pt FG.

Now for the craziness, as if 33 points wasn't enough.

Monday 4/12 vs Denver (116-107) W

53 points (14-24 FG, 10-18 3-pt FG, 15-16 FT)

Wednesday 4/14 @ OKC (147-109) W

42 points (14-20 FG, 11-16 3-pt FG, 3-3 FT)

Thursday 4/15 @ Cleveland (119-101) W

33 points (12-25 FG, 4-13 3-pt FG, 5-5 FT)

Saturday 4/17 @ Boston (119-114) L

47 points (15-27 FG, 11-19 3-pt FG, 6-8 FT)

Only 6 players in NBA history have multiple games making 10 or more 3's in a game. Curry now has 20 instances, which is more than the other 5 players who have done it more than once combined. Second place is Klay Thompson who has done it 5 times. He broke his own record for most 3-pointers in a 3-game stretch.

Curry is having an extremely similar season to when he won unanimous MVP.

2015-16 MVP Season: 30.1 ppg, 6.7 apg, 5.4 rpg, 2.1 spg, 5.1 3-PT FGM, 45% 3-PT, 50.4% FG, 4.6 FTM, 90.8 FT%

2020-21 Season: 31.0 ppg, 5.9 apg, 5.6 rpg, 1.2 spg, 5.1 3-PT FGM, 42.7% 3-PT, 49% FG, 5.5 FTM, 92.2 FT%

Golden State is currently sitting at #9 in the Western Conference standings at 28-29. The top 10 teams in each conference will technically reach the postseason, with #'s 7-10 making the "play-in" tournament. Those teams at 7, 8, and 10 right now DO NOT want to see Steph playing this well with the season winding down. And if somehow they sneak past the play-in and reach a 7-game series, those teams seeded #1 and #2 should be real worried.

Before this week Curry was already the undisputed greatest shooter of all time. His legend only grew the last 7 days. Who knows what he will have in store for us this week. He would need 15 3-pointers in a game to break Klay Thompson's NBA record...just saying.
